Coventry Equestrian Center, nestled on 32 rolling acres in southwestern Pennsylvania
near Washington PA, was established in 1993. Blythedale,* the owner’s e-mail address, was the name of her favorite horse
and it means "happy valley" in Celtic. Coventry means "to protect," thus, the horses living at Coventry are protected in this
happy valley.
At Coventry we offer horse-friendly boarding covering all your horse's needs:
fresh water, stalls cleaned daily, regular turnout in safe groups, and an evening feeding of hay and water. Our boarders at
Coventry are here because of the excellent care, quiet atmosphere and reasonable rates. We cater to the horses, and they are
happy.
Lesson programs are available at Coventry that teach quality riding and training
skills. The owner/manager, Kristin Hermann, specializes in teaching good riding/ training with a natural horsemanship (non
evasive) approach. Simply, the horses are not coerced into performing and you can see this training philosophy portrayed in
their attitudes.
Students from Coventry compete in dressage, hunter, jumpers and even barrel racing.
A well-trained, balanced and relaxed horse will perform better at any discipline. Also, good riding skills will benefit a
rider for a lifetime of enjoyment in their chosen equestrian discipline.
Outside clinicians teach at Coventry and outside trainers are welcome.
Coventry also hosts two Western Pennsylvania Dressage Association (WPDA) shows a
year. See Upcoming events for details. Contact Kristin about riding or boarding at Coventry and/or for a farm tour.
